Teaching: My Dream in Motion
Who Am I?
I’m Precy Jane De Paz Garcia, a 19-year-old from Poblacion 1, Babatngon, Leyte. Currently I’m studying for a Bachelor of Elementary Education at Eastern Visayas State University.,
I believe that education is one of the most powerful tools for shaping the future, and I aspire to be a part of that transformation. My passion lies in nurturing young minds, guiding them not only in academics but also in building values, confidence, and character.
What motivates me most is the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children. I want to inspire them to dream big, develop their potential, and believe in themselves, no matter their circumstances. As a future educator, my greatest fulfillment will come from seeing my students grow, succeed, and become responsible individuals who can contribute positively to society.
"Life is like riding a bicycle, To keep your balance, you must keep moving." — Albert Einstein
Life will always have challenges and struggles, just like balancing on a bike is not always easy. If you stop moving, you fall. In life, if you stop trying, learning, or growing, you lose your direction and may feel stuck. The key is to keep moving forward, no matter how small the steps are, because progress—even slow—keeps us balanced and gives life meaning.
This philosophy reminds me not to give up, even when things feel difficult. It teaches me resilience and persistence. Life will not always be smooth, but as long as I keep pushing myself, I can stay on the right path and eventually reach where I want to be.
A Day in the Life of a Student
Being a student today is both fun and challenging. With classes, group projects, and demonstration teaching, I sometimes feel very busy and tired. Late-night studying and making lesson plans have become part of my routine, and there are moments when I doubt if I can handle it all. But whenever I picture the day a child will call me “Ma’am Precy,” I gain new strength and motivation.
From the outside, people might see education as an “easy” course, or that it’s just about memorizing theories and writing lesson plans. Here’s the truth: every day, we try to meet the needs of twenty different young people with only two hands.
Why Teaching Fulfills Me
I live by the idea that “teaching leaves a lasting mark.” Education is more than just lessons and exams, it’s about building values, boosting confidence, and helping students discover their strengths. I believe every child has unique talents, and as a future teacher, it will be my honor to guide them and help them grow.
Elementary Education is not only a degree—it’s a duty to guide and support young learners. Seeing a child learn their first words, write their first sentence, or count for the first time is truly unforgettable. Being ready to guide and support children in these important steps is what makes this journey so meaningful and fulfilling. Teaching young learners also means having patience, understanding, and a big heart to help them grow. It may be challenging at times, but the joy of seeing them improve and succeed makes every effort worth it.
